Jane The Mothering Doula

Hi, my name is Jane, I’m a postpartum doula and my family and I have recently moved to Bandon, County Cork.
Following diagnostic surgery for Endometriosis and Adenomyosis in March 2022, I gave birth to my first child, Maia, in August 2023. While I was very prepared for pregnancy and birth, I found myself woefully under-prepared for postpartum. As women, we tend to put ourselves last when it comes to needs and self-care and if I could turn back time, I would do myself a favour and hire a postpartum doula to help guide me through that period.
I felt inspired to train and become a postpartum doula in the hopes that I can support mums and families through this huge transition into parenthood. Everyone deserves a helping hand, someone to soothe the sense of overwhelm and reassure you as you embrace this beautiful new phase of life.
I qualified as a postpartum doula with DoulaCare Adademy in Ocotber 2024. I have supported several families in Offaly since then and hope to continue my work in Cork. I am hugely passionate about women’s health and wellbeing. As a doula, I offer evidence-based support and information centred on empowering parents. My service includes advice on breastfeeding, bottle-feeding and combination feeding, baby care, infant sleep, light house work, emotional support and home-cooking. I’m here to care for you so that you can care for your baby. This is a season of rest, recovery and growth for the whole family and I would be honoured to help you along this journey.
