I’m Lynsey – The Baby Guru NI a childcare professional and fully qualified Postnatal Doula/Postnatal Night Nanny based in Northern Ireland who has worked for over 20 years in childcare settings and within the home as a children’s nanny.
My passion in life is to support families who are welcoming a new baby to the family but would like an extra pair of hands, a shoulder to cry on, some company or a listening ear.

My aim is to provide quality support to families who don’t have that extended ‘family’ around them or are going through the newborn stage completely alone.

Maybe you’ve experienced baby loss in previous pregnancies and you feel a little anxious about being handed this little baby and being sent on your way.
What do I do?
This really depends on the level of support you need - basically I do a minimum of 3-4hrs at night if it’s a weeknight or longer at weekends
How does it work?
For example, if you have older children and need help with newborn while you do bedtime routine I will come and help you get something to eat and help get baby settled while you’re sorting the older children
Do you have a partner that works shifts so you’re on your own some nights I would come and allow you to eat and then you can go to bed for a few hours and get some rest until the next feed or it’s time for me to leave
Every family’s needs or wants can be different it just depends how things go in your house. Most of my clients who have young families said that early evening is tough getting time to eat and start the bedtime routine when most of their support network if they have one are doing the same or were busy, this is why I offer you an extra set of hands to help with that 7-10pm slot of the day.
My ambition is to extend my support to work alongside organisations who are supporting families bringing home a baby after infertility and or Baby loss.
